Rock Augers

A rock Auger is a specially designed drill attachment that is used to excavate hard rock.
The Auger design utilizes a rotating pick tooth to maximize the penetrative capacity of the drill.
A rock Auger’s design enables the teeth to fracture heavy duty rock and the drill to penetrate ground normally impervious to a standard Auger.
A variety of rock Auger diameter sizes are available to ensure drills are useful in a full range of applications, from shallow pitch flights used in soft fractural rock to wider flight edges used in harder ground types.

Characteristics of rock augers:

  • Suited for drilling in challenging geological conditions.
  • Typically used for creating boreholes for geological investigations and foundation construction in rocky terrain.
  • Reduces the wear and tear that would otherwise occur using a standard auger.
